Having a extra supply of food on hand can be beneficial to anyone. A few months ago, I sat down and put together a food storage plan. I included recipes that my family eats for thirty meals that would feed my family two nights each, and that gave me two months of meals. I then complied a very detailed item list with everything I would need for those meals plus breakfast, lunch, snacks, water, personal and paper items. Then I adjusted those numbers to how much I would have to buy for a 2 month , 4 month, and 6 month supply. This has made my feelings of food storage go from overwhelmed to excited!! I know exactly what I need when I go to the store and I can buy a little here and a little there until I have got everything on my list! I can't tell you how excited I am to have this! It brings me a lot of piece of mind when we have extra food on our shelves!!
Because this was fairly easy, I thought it would be fun to have a blog where I can share tips on food storage and share easy recipes and pass along tips and recipes others share with me. Kindof a community cookbook if you will!! So send me your ideas so I can blog them for all of us!!
